The 'Reading Room'

So, today I sat down in the park to eat an overpriced chicken sandwich and as I'm about three bites in, this worm of a man comes and places a little sign on the rickety table that I'm sitting at.

The sign read : ' Tables are reserved for Reading Room patrons only.'

Annoyed, but not wanting to make too much out of it, I picked up my stuff and moved across the sidewalk to finish my sandwich. That's when this old guy with crooked hands and a wrinkled suit walked up and sat right where I had been--not giving a shit about the bookworm or his stupid little sign.

He took out a notepad and a pencil and began to focus intensely on the page before him. I didn't know what he was writing or drawing but it was great and even greater that the worm eventually gave up trying to get his attention by glaring at him and even moving the sign a little closer to his head.

Maybe it was Jesus.

A statue I saw in September

I suppose this thing is famous but I had never seen or heard of it before. I was just walking somewhere near Harlem ( I think it was around the 110's ) and saw it peeking out between some hedges. So, I went and had a closer look and ended up just sitting there looking at it for about two hours.

Maybe I'll go back and find out what its actually called and maybe post it here later...or maybe not.
