Pretty good space ( I thought) for a national paper like Trouw, but I was somewhat amazed at the little blurb that the author of the piece chose to include beside the picture. It translates to:
'PHOTOGRAPH PETER DEAN RICKARDS. The photographer communicates on its Internet site: ' if you steal this photograph of Internet without my authorisation, then not only get you shitty thing, but I will engage also crackhead to find and assassinate yourself.'

About six years ago a stupid little comic appeared on the AFFLICTED YARD called "Goldy Frocks and the 3 Crackheads." Nothing heavy, just a little story about a battered woman who stole some crack in a burned out building. The orginal story appeared HERE but today I recieved a newly illustrated version of the story by a guy named MARK HUTTON whose Crumb-like style reminds me of the days when I would spend my time TRYING to draw shit like this instead of listening to anything going on in my classes.
Needless to say I've published the new version on the site where it will remain as a powerful educational tool for children. Expect more work from Mr. Hutton in the next issue of FIRST.

I just can't say enough about this guy's work. Based in NYC (after winning a VISA to the USA from his native Belgrade), Boogie's stuff is about as twisted as it gets. Hasidic Jews in Williamsburg, gangs in Chicago, crack whores in Brooklyn...considering his style and subject matter, Boogie is certain to go down as one of the greatest ( and maybe even enjoy some of the rewards if one of his subjects doesn't stick him in the eye with a dirty needle first). Check out his updates on http://www.artcoup.com and watch for his photographs in issue No. 5 of FIRST MAGAZINE (Oct 2005)
